The Kraken controlled the pace of play early on and opened the scoring at 8:28 of the first period.Bjorkstrand found the back of the net on a breakaway, roofing a backhand shot over the shoulder of Sharks goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen.
Seattle extended its lead to 2-0 just over four minutes later when Jared McCann buried a power-play goal. Bjorkstrand assisted on the play, giving him two points on the night.
The Sharks rallied back in the second period, with goals from Nico Sturm and Kevin Labanc. However, the Kraken restored their two-goal advantage with a power-play goal from Matty Beniers at 14:31.
Seattle held on to its lead in the third period, despite a late push from the Sharks. Calle Jarnkrok sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with just over a minute remaining.
"We played a solid game," said Kraken coach Dave Hakstol. "We got contributions from all four lines, and our power play was clicking tonight."
"It's always nice to get on the scoresheet," said Bjorkstrand. "We're playing with a lot of confidence right now."
The win improves the Kraken's record to 31-27-4, while the Sharks fall to 22-34-6. Seattle remains in contention for a Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, while San Jose is virtually eliminated from playoff contention.
The Kraken will continue their homestand on Wednesday when they host the Vegas Golden Knights. The Sharks will return home to face the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.
