College Football Rankings: Week 5 AP Top 25 Poll released

Georgia (10-0) has dominated throughout the season, securing the No. 1 spot by defeating Tennessee in a thrilling game on Saturday. Ohio State (10-1) remains close behind, despite its only loss to Purdue.

Alabama (9-1) retains the No. 3 ranking, maintaining its consistent performance. Michigan (10-1) has climbed to No. 4 after an impressive victory over Ohio State's hated rival, Michigan State.

TCU (9-1) and USC (9-1) have emerged as top-tier teams. TCU has jumped to No. 5 after a statement win against Baylor. USC, led by Heisman contender Caleb Williams, has moved up to No. 6 following a convincing victory over UCLA.

"Georgia has proven they're the team to beat right now," said ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit. "They have a balanced offense and a dominant defense. Ohio State is still formidable, but their loss to Purdue is a red flag."

The SEC continues to dominate the AP Top 25, with four teams in the top 10. The Big Ten and Pac-12 each have three teams in the top 25.

The final AP Top 25 Poll will be released on December 4th, determining the teams eligible for the College Football Playoff. Georgia and Ohio State remain the frontrunners for the top two spots, while Michigan, TCU, and USC will battle for the remaining Playoff berths.
