Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb's fantasy football value has come under question following the news that quarterback Dak Prescott will miss several games due to injury. Without his usual passing target, Lamb's production could suffer, prompting concerns among fantasy owners.
Last season, Lamb posted impressive numbers with Prescott at the helm. He finished the year with 1,102 receiving yards and six touchdowns. However, without Prescott, Lamb's production has declined. In the two games Prescott has missed this season, Lamb has caught only five passes for 64 yards.
Fantasy football analyst Matthew Berry believes Lamb's value will take a significant hit without Prescott. "With Prescott out, Lamb becomes a low-end WR2," Berry said. "He's still a talented receiver, but he won't be able to put up the same numbers without his quarterback."
Fantasy owners looking to replace Lamb in their lineups have several options. Michael Gallup, the Cowboys' other starting receiver, has shown promise in Prescott's absence, catching five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in the past two games. Other receivers who could benefit from Prescott's injury include Amari Cooper, Allen Robinson II, and DeVonta Smith.
The extent of Prescott's injury is still unknown, but it's clear that Lamb's fantasy value will be affected in his absence. Fantasy owners should consider benching Lamb until Prescott returns, or exploring other receiver options. With his talent and Prescott's expected return, Lamb remains a player to watch for the rest of the fantasy season.
